The Institute of International Law was founded on 8 September 1873. In 1904 the Institute of International Law was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of its action in favour of arbitration among States, a peaceful means of settling disputes.
The total number of Members shall not exceed 132 lawyer the Institut member come from evry right system, each member must receive 50 % more one vote for being elected.
Each member receive the prepatory works from commissions and read it before the session.
In session, after discussion, by vote the Institut adopt or not the resolution.
